Safe Harbor Trestle Bridge

Photographs were taken October 2014. These pictures represent the condition of the trestle bridge prior to repair. The bridge was overgrown with weeds, vines and trees from below as well as on the decking.

Photographs were taken February 2015. Manor Township Public Works Department worked to clear the overgrowth by removing trees and brush from below.

Photographs were taken February 2015. A rockslide occurred which jeopardized the bridge bracing. As a result, two beams needed to be repaired.

JD Eckman, Inc. was contracted to complete the required base repairs. Repairs began in November 2015. The project included repairs and/or replacement of anchor bolts, tie rods and steel beams to the area impacted by the rockslide.

Photographs were taken March-April 2016. The trestle bridge was covered with 18 inches of railroad ballast that needed to be removed to proceed with steel assessment. Brightfields, Inc. was the contractor that handled this portion of the project.

Steel repairs and bridge decking replacement commenced September 2020. Rylind Construction Company, Inc. was the contractor responsible for the steel and decking repairs.
